As one of the pioneers of Turkish food sector, TAMEK was founded on March 31st, 1955 in Demirtaş county of Bursa province. TAMEK is composed of the initials of “Türk Alman Meyve Ekstreleri Kumpanyası” (Turkish German Fruit Extracts Company).

In 1950’s, when the industrial development was accelerating, the efficiency that was expected in the production of ready-food products hadn’t been reached yet. In such a period, when modern production technologies weren’t used, TAMEK was founded by Mehmet Sipahioğlu together with the technological cooperation with Germans. The German partner of TAMEK withdrew from the partnership at the end of the first year and TAMEK took its place in the sector as 100% Turkish origin food producer.

TAMEK produced the first ketchup and tomato juice in Turkey.

TAMEK produced the first convenience food and stuffed food in Turkey.

TAMEK commenced the production of the first fruit juice in Bursa-Demirtaş that is the first factory.

TAMEK Fruit Juice was marketed in its famous brown bottles.

TAMEK produced the first Stewed Pulses in Turkey.

TAMEK started production in Bursa-Karacabey Factory. The products produced in the factory included: paste, vegetable, canned food, bean, jam, concentrated food and marmalade.

TAMEK produced the first diabetic jam in Turkey.

TAMEK started the production of the first canned fruit juice in Turkey.

Balıkesir-Kızıksa Factory started its operations. The production of paste, bean, mini paste package, mashed foods, concentrated fruits, ketchup and mayonnaise has been continuing since 1994.

TAMEK produced the first paper box paste in Turkey.

The first factory of TAMEK, Bursa-Demirtaş, was transformed into a complex producing solely fruit juices.

Production was started in Manisa – Salihli Factory. The factory produces paste, boiled products, convenience food and stuffed food, canned okra and fruit juice concentrates.

Six new fruit juices were marketed together with the launching of A-C-E vitamin TAMEK PLUS Orange Carrot Lemon Fruit Drink for the first time in Turkey. Thus, the consumption concentrated on fruits such as sour cherry, apricot, peach, etc. for a long time changed.

'Body Sleeve' package was used for the first time in Ketchup and Mayonnaise.

TAMEK produced the first additive-free canned products that do not contain any protective agent.

100% Orange Juice that is enriched in potassium and that is healthy for heart was launched for the first time in Turkey.

TAMEK was chosen as the “First Brand that Comes to Mind” in categories of Fruit Juice and Jam in the research of the First Brands that Comes to Mind of Nielsen.

Bursa - Karacabey Factory started the production of fruit juices upon launching the modern production lines.

TAMEK Plus 7+7 Mixed Fruit Nectar was launched.
